ISPTA Newsletter 2022-23, Term 3

We had a very busy Term 3 which started with the Spring Fair. It was wonderful to come together as a community after a four year break, and the fair was a perfect celebration with food, games, shopping, performances and a very big cake! Robotic Kits towards which ISPTA had previously donated were also showcased. A big thank you and credit goes to our volunteers, sponsors and auction donors. The fair and the auction raised over $130K towards the school’s Community Garden and Island School Trust’s Nicola and Kenneth Bursaries.

The Back to Borrett Hoodies was launched and incredibly popular with younger and older students. After the spring fair, ISPTA continued the Japanese and Korean community WhatsApp groups. Y10 Career Talks day was a great success with a strong lineup of speakers giving our students exposure to various careers. We also published highlights of old newsletters from ISPTA’s first 50 years on Borrett Road to celebrate the return back to Borrett.

ISPTA was delighted to host and sponsor the graduation reception for Class of 2023 families in May. The dinner dances were a highlight of the term for Year 11 and Year 13 students and their families. ISPTA contributed towards the decorations of these events. We were thrilled to welcome the incoming Y7 families during the transition days. In addition we also supported the Cultural Week with parent-led activities. Students marked the year-end with a trip to Ocean Park. The trip was sponsored by ISPTA as a wellness initiative to give the students an opportunity to spend time with peers and have fun.
