Winners Announced for the Reusable Mask Design Competition
To combat the waste created by disposable/single-use masks, WANBO invited students to design a customised reusable mask for their house. The competition received close to 100 entries and students submitted their own designs to their respective Houses themed around the ‘House Spirit’. After two rounds of voting by the Island School community, the results are in! A huge congratulations to the following students whose designs will be sent off to Tsunami Sport to be manufactured.

Sam Hui (11W), WANBO leader said, “On behalf of WANBO, we wanted to express our sincere congratulations to winners! We’re really thankful for all the enthusiasm towards this activity and the fantastic effort each and every student put in. All the masks have successfully incorporated elements that represented the theme of their house as well as other creative personal designs, providing a unique reusable mask for our community. We look forward to increasing reusable mask usage in our school!”
Venus Tin (10R) and Ellie Ham (10R), fellow Wanbo team members also commented that they enjoyed designing the masks and glad to see the school community is adapting to this change and making a stand towards disposable masks.
WANBO will provide further updates as soon as the masks are ready to be ordered and distributed from Tsunami.
