Student representatives organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Day to raise money for the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation on the 11th October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Students were encouraged to dress pink and a bake sale was organized by students from 11F and 11N. Carey Yeung one of the students organizing the days said, “The support from students was overwhelming, making it a very successful Breast Cancer Awareness Day.”
“Through the contribution from teachers and students on both campus Island School raised over $10,000 to aid patients diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Mrs. Jill Thomson, the teacher overseeing Breast Cancer Awareness Day said, “It was great to see everyone dressing pink! I really enjoyed the bake sale and people were very generous. They were all very supportive!”
