ESF Chef Winner 2023

A huge congratulations to Tania Ngai (12D), who was crowned the ESF Chef Winner 2023.

The grand final was held at WIS on Friday, where the school winners from all 7 ESF Secondary school competed against each other, cooking their own designed concept menu for a Black Sheep restaurant of their choice, with a special diary requirement of their choice. You can see her delicious menu, with hand drawn illustrations, for The Botanical Garden Restaurant.

This year the competition was sponsored by Black Sheep restaurants who gave Tania and the runner up a selection of prizes, including gift vouchers and Tania will also have opportunity to do some work experience with the restaurant group.

Many thanks to the judges, ESF CEO Belinda Greer, Billy Otis (Black Sheep Development Chef), Natalie Chan (Head Chef at Butter and Nitin Hiranandan (Chef at Samsen. They all commented on what a difficult job it was and how the level of level skill was so so high this year, with many of the dishes being restaurant standard.
