Book Week for Year 7, 8 & 9

Next week we look forward to an annual highlight in the school calendar: Book Week! In English lessons for Years 7, 8 and 9 all current units of work will be suspended, making way for a range of exciting activities all linked to students’ wider reading.

What to expect
We will be making a big effort, where possible, to move students away from screens during the week. Many of the creative options available to them for Book Week activities will be ‘hands on’ and practical. These will range from making a model… to creating a board game… to baking and decorating cookies.

How you can help
Please help your children to access materials that might help them. These might include ingredients for cooking, unwanted fabric or cardboard, or paints and glue. It’s a great opportunity for some upcycling!

Students may well get lost in the excitement of these activities so keeping to time and not missing the next lesson will be important. Please encourage them to set an alarm!
