[Updated 27 July] The start of the term

Following on from Belinda’s email and our meeting with the EDB last week, we would like to update parents on what will be in place at the start of the new school term.

We intend to start the new school year as planned from 10 August, but all classes that week will be delivered online. Students should not attend Island School that week.

Our staff will be working hard over the next couple of weeks to put in place specific plans to ensure that we can get students settled into their new classes – and be ready to engage in their learning.

We know how important the early days and weeks of a new term are, so rest assured we will be giving it our full attention.

We are continuing to speak to the Government about when we can get students back into school. As the situation here in Hong Kong is moving so quickly, all we can tell you at this stage is that the earliest that this will happen is 17 August – and that this would be managed on a phased basis. As soon as we know more, we will let you know.

As always, thank you for your support. We will be in touch with more information as soon as we have it.
