Students Design Posters to Raise Awareness of Plastic Waste
To raise awareness of the importance of plastic recycling, the Circular IS team at Island School invited students from Years 7-9 to design a poster. Students could choose one of the following topics:
- What is a circular economy?
- What are the different types of plastics?
- How can we reduce plastic use in our everyday life?
The competition received 40+ entries and posters were judged based on their quality, content and design. Mr Parker, Circular IS teacher said: “I was very impressed by all the poster entries! It’s great to see that younger students are aware of the issues and they are keen to be part of the solution regarding good practices. Let’s hope the eye catching posters create real change at Island School!”
The final winners are:
1st Place: Nicholas Li, 7N
2nd Place: Liam Wong, 7E
3rd Place: Anson Chiu, 7N
Most Creative Award: Karlson Ong, 7N
Grace Zheng (12F), one of the student leaders said: “All the entries had their own unique touch and it was really difficult to choose the final winners! A huge congratulations to everyone who participated in the competition.”
