Students Achieve Highest GCSE Mark in HK, Asia and the World
A GCSE examining board has awarded three Island School students the highest marks in their Japanese and Maths Exams (details below).

Hannah Lee (12W) who achieved the highest Maths GCSE mark said she was very pleased to have achieved this accolade. She explained “I enjoy the process of exploring a question and the satisfaction I gain from finding the solution to a problem, especially since there is an unequivocally right answer to most Maths questions.”
Karen Orito(10D) talked about her passion for learning Japanese, “I enjoy learning Japanese, it is my first language and I believe it helps me understand my culture more.”
Yu Kisa (10D) said, “I was very happy when I heard about this. However, at the same time, I feel that I could’ve done better as I was only 1 mark away from the full score”
“This has given me the motivation to do even better in my other exams and subjects, and I’m hoping that I will be able to get desirable results too when I take the exams for other subjects. Overall I was very happy as I never expected something like this and I am very thankful for my teachers Ms.Rei and Ms.Makino!”
