Island School’s sports teams are performing well at the Hong Kong Inter-Secondary Schools Competitions.
Members from the girls and boys Athletics teams got through to the final rounds in various running and hurdles races. The B Grade Boys Basketball team were in the semi-finals, while the C Grade Boys Basketball recorded an awesome win in their second HKSSF game. The A grade boys football team are facing South Island School in the Jing Ying Cup final on 9 March, 2019.
Both girls and boys tennis players have also been unbeaten all season, and the Year 8 Netball team had continuous wins in their competitions.

Wenchy Lai (11R), has been selected to represent Hong Kong at the Asian Junior Athletics Championships in the 1500m.
She said, “It is genuinely a great honour to be able to represent Hong Kong at the Asian Youth Athletics Championships, and I was really surprised to be selected, considering that there are so many other talented athletes in HK. It’ll be such a great, eye-opening experience being able to compete against higher level athletes in different countries throughout Asia.”
Eunice Ng 8F won 1st place at the 71st Hong Kong School Music Festival on Friday, in the violin solo category on the 1 March. She competed against 35 contestants from different schools in Hong Kong on the day. She said, “That it was an unforgettable experience, for sure I still have more to learn to continue enhancing my skills.”
