School Council Announcement

Dear Parents, Teachers and Students

I am very pleased to announce that Ms Belinda Greer, CEO of ESF has advised of the appointment of Michael Lok as the Island School Council Chairperson.

Michael is an Island School alumnus (Da Vinci) who is well known within our community due to his extensive and committed involvement since he graduated in 2008. He is a Barrister-at-Law with Des Voeux Chambers and as the current Island School Alumni President, he currently serves on the School Council.

This appointment will take effect from the 28 October 2017 which co-incides with the conclusion of the tenure of current Chair Robert Gibson.

Robert’s contribution as Chair has been exemplary. He has been extraordinarily energetic and conscientious and is well known for having the best interests of the school at heart and having the courage to act on his convictions. Robert has been a champion of the project to build our new school. He has worked tirelessly to get the best possible design and the conditions for a successful relocation.

On behalf of the Island School community I have passed on heartfelt thanks to Robert and congratulations to Michael. Work has commenced to ensure that the school’s proud tradition of high quality leadership and governance endures.
