Ava & Rachel win Covid Writing Competition

Congratulations to Ava Au Yeung (9D) and Rachel Yoon (10W) for winning awards in the junior category (Personal Reflection) at the One Health 2nd COVID Writing Competition.

Hosted by the City University Hong Kong, the online One Health 2nd COVID Writing Competition Awards Ceremony was held on 12 May 2022, with Dr Nicholas David Thomas presenting the results.

With Over 300 submissions to this year’s competition, the standard of writing was incredibly impressive.

Ava received the Outstanding Writing Award, with judges praising her wonderfully reflective writing, showcasing maturity beyond her years. Her reflections on playing the ukulele also stood out to the judges.

Rachel won the 2nd Prize award for her writing. Judges were impressed with Rachel’s mature reflections on how we as individuals have coped with the pandemic. Rachel was praised for her inventive and creative use of structure, including the short poem at the end of the piece.
