“On the Brink” – HKIS MUN 2021
“On the Brink” was the theme of the HKIS Model United Nations 2021 at which 12 students debated world issues, on the 6- 7th February.
Ethan Yap (12W) explained: “After over 10 hours of speeches, Points of Information and amendments, all students left their Zoom calls with an experience both to remember and to learn from. The issues students debated ranged from establishing a framework for disarmament in the South China Sea to more complex problems such as the ongoing situation in Libya. Through the many debates, students developed their critical skills such as collaboration and problem solving which will be beneficial to them as they become global citizens.”
5 delegates managed to end the conference with an award or an honourable mention. These delegates are:
Most Improved Delegate – Hannah Lam 9R, Vynci Law 9W (Nigeria, General Assembly)
Honourable Mention – Cyrus Ng 9F (United States, Disarmament Committee)

Congratulations to these delegates and the ISMUN community looks forward to seeing more success from other delegates in future external conferences!
