Nansen House raises $45,000 for Baiwan
At the Nansen House afternoon, students ran or walked as many laps of the Shing Mun River as possible – in a bid to raise money for the Baiwan Charity.
The Baiwan Fun Run is the successor to the Nansen Biathlon which was held annually at the Borrett Road Campus.
Pippa Peters Senior Head of House Sha Tin Wai said, “The level of enthusiasm on show during the Fun Run was excellent. Year 12 marshals cheered students on at every corner, with Nansen House staff also running alongside students.”
Students collected sponsorship money in support of the Baiwan Charity which Island School has been affiliated with for over 20 years.
Danny Nason Senior Head of House Tai Wai, “Nansen House is very proud to have raised $45, 000 for the children of this community, in this event alone. The proceeds of this Fun Run will go towards improving educational opportunities for children living in rural Guangdong.”
