Mock Trial in Elements Law Class
In Elements Law class students dressed up in the legal attire of wigs and gowns for their first Mock Trial this week. The class was set up to imitate a proper legal trial together with a Judge, Jury and witness stand to create authenticity.
Students spent two previous lessons preparing for both burglary and possession of drugs cases, studying the legal teams, analysing the evidence and witness statements, preparing questions, opening and closing statements to the Jury, as well as learning the language and etiquette required in Court. They used a variety of skills including analysing and evaluating, advocacy, public speaking, drama and even imagination.
Sonia Sharma, Teacher of Elements Law class said, “All students did incredibly well for their first mock trial!”
