Island School Spring Fair 2023 Coming Soon

Island School is delighted to invite all Island School students and families to our Spring Fair on Friday, 21st April, 2023, 4:00 – 8:30pm. Our Fair marks the opening of our new Borrett Road campus and is a long-awaited opportunity to bring our community together again. We kindly request you RSVP with your intention to attend by returning this form no later than April 14th.  You may also sign up for free shuttle bus service on the same form.  (Kindly be reminded that there are NO PARKING spaces allocated for Fair attendees.  In addition to the bus service offered by Island School, the #9 mini-bus is available, originating at the Exchange Square bus depot.)

The proceeds from our Spring Fair will be used for student-led sustainability and other projects. The ‘community garden’ near the rock climbing wall will be enhanced into a long-term space for green projects. Part of the proceeds will also support Island School Trust’s charities.

There are many ways in which you can contribute to the success of our Spring Fair:

  • Be a volunteer
We warmly invite parents to extend their support at the various games and food hall stalls. Many hands are still needed and we are looking for volunteers across all areas with various time slots. Click here to sign up as a volunteer!
  • Share your baking skills
A beloved part of the International Food Hall is our baked goods stall, the Bakers’ Corner. We would be grateful to receive any and all sweet treats that you can whip up at home and share with our community. The sweeter, the better!  Please use this link to donate baked goods.
  • Tickle your taste buds at our international food hall
Thanks to the cooking mamas and papas, we have an amazing choice of cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Korean & Southeast Asian. There’s also the Baker’s Corner, Curry Corner, Dim Sum, Pizza and the crowd favourite BBQ with Hot Dogs and Impossible Burgers. Popcorn, cotton candy, coffee and a selection of European dishes will be offered in collaboration with APC. Come hungry, leave satisfied!
  • Help us be Green and BYO!
The Spring Fair has firmly adopted Island School’s commitment to the environment and  aspires to be our greenest school fair ever!  Support the cause by BYO food container, water bottle and even cutlery, or use our reusable plates, cutlery & cups available at the food hall. How close can we get to zero-waste?
  • Building upon our commitment to the environment
A significant number of Island School students actively run WANBO, a group focused on reducing our impact on the Earth. These students will be hosting several stalls selling gently used school uniforms as well as second-hand books aimed for the enjoyment of readers in secondary school and above. We also welcome you to check out the mini kitchenware sale. There is something for everyone. We welcome donations of gentle used books suitable for secondary school students, the donation collection box is outside the ISPTA office (room G03).
  • Prepare your bids for Silent Auction!
No Spring Fair would be complete without a phenomenal line-up of silent auction items. Check the Auction Catalogue for details, and plan on bidding well and winning big! We hope you win! The auction proceeds will benefit Island School Trust’s Nicola and Kenneth bursaries. A big thank you to all our auction donors for their support.
  • Exciting entertainment featuring Islander talents
Island School students will showcase their art and musical talents throughout the campus. Stay tuned for more information about the fantastic performance and exhibit schedules.
  • Fun filled games and activities
Get ready for a day of fun games and activities hosted by all houses! Collect stamps to claim one of the 1000 prizes, never mind top bragging rights!

Big thank you to our Spring Fair sponsors Asia Pacific Catering, Bookazine, Ebeneezer’s, ETAK, Faber-Castell, Impossible Foods, Jom, Kwoon Chung Motors, Masterful Ltd, Mother of Pizzas, Plant Sifu, Purearth and Swire, as well as to all student, teacher and parent volunteers working on fair preparations.

Island School’s return to Borrett Road is truly something to be celebrated and we look forward to welcoming our community back together, stronger than ever.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, 21st April on Borrett Road!
