ISPTA Newsletter 2022-23, Term 1
It has been a memorable first term with the return to Borrett Road. ISPTA volunteers welcomed parents to the open house in August. We also participated in the parent information evenings of Term 1. Our AGM took place in October, and an EGM to pass resolutions for our move from a limited company to an association in December.
In collaboration with the school, ISPTA has hosted Q&A webinar sessions on the practicalities of settling in our new campus, as well as on curriculum related changes. We continue this with bi-weekly Friday-morning coffee zooms. We continue to strengthen our WhatsApp groups with area-specific bus discussion groups, and Chinese language communications support groups.
Term 1 saw Island School’s cultural celebrations. Our parent volunteers, students and teachers decorated the new campus for Diwali and Christmas. ISPTA also supported the student activities for both events. Two cooking masterclasses were organised for parents: Diwali delicacies and Cookie decoration.
In December, Island School welcomed its community partners, friends and neighbours from Sha Tin for afternoon tea, music, fun and games on Borrett Road. It was wonderful to see our old friends on campus, and ISPTA was proud to support the Connected Communities event with games and activities.
We wish everyone a wonderful Term 2, with the Year of the Rabbit celebrations and Walkathon to look forward to! For areas and initiatives supported in previous years and other highlights, please check out the ISPTA News section.
