Indian Consul Explains Gandhi’s Messages of Peace

Gandhi’s life and legacy was the topic for discussion with visiting speaker Indian Consul, Mr. Narayan Singh and the Year 9 History class, this week. Students have been focusing on the role that Gandhi played in India during the period of colonisation. Mr Singh explained Gandhi’s messages of peace and the importance of non-violence.

A 150 years since his birth, students have been studying Gandhi as part of their ‘Empire and Expansion’ unit which focuses on the connection formed by empires and different perspectives on colonization.
