Farewell Winter Fair Raises Money For Nicola Myers and Kenneth Mcbride Fund
The Winter Fair, 2017, brought the Island School community together for a farewell Borrett Road bash, with food, drinks and live acts. This year students ran lots of stalls, ranging from games to DIY Christmas cards to handmade goodies. In addition to the stalls, there was a Karaoke and photo booth and a very popular haunted house.
All the proceeds from this year’s fair will go towards the Nicola Myers and Kenneth Mcbride Fund, which helps students, from Hong Kong schools, to continue their studies.
Media Team Reporter Iris Tsui said, “There were incredible performances by students across the years as well as a wide variety of delicious food from all over the world!”
Performer, Priscilla Lee 11F said: “I thought the fair was great! Not only did I get to perform with my friends, I also got to have lots of food, and see what all my classmates have been up to. I particularly enjoyed the gingerbread cookies — They were great!”
A volunteer at the Nicola Myers stall, Erica Xiong also said: “This year, we raised a lot of money for the charity. Every $2,500 we raise will help a child receive a proper education, and I honestly think that there couldn’t be a better way to end the many years that Island School has spent in this campus.”
