ESF Board Approves Contractor for Redevelopment
It has been an amazing twelve months for Island School. Over the past year, the school has successfully settled in to its new campuses in Tai Wai and Sha Tin Wai. Many friends have been made in the local community through the opening of the community library and the Island School Alliance is forging links with Alumni and the business community that will open up a whole host of exciting options for our students.
We are now ready to start writing the next chapter in the Island School story. I am delighted to say that the ESF Board has approved the appointment of the main contractor for the redevelopment project at the Borrett Road site. Over Christmas, the contractor will begin the work of removing the old buildings so that they can get ready to construct the amazing new facility that will be home to our Island School family for generations to come.
This is the biggest project in the history of ESF. It is a project that is so much more than bricks and mortar. The redevelopment of Island School gives us an opportunity to build, from the ground up, a school that is immersed in the ESF approach to teaching. It will have space for students to work together, to problem solve and to develop the skills that they will need in order to face our fast changing world.
I am incredibly excited about this project and the opportunities it presents for ESF. Today is the first major milestone for the redevelopment work, there will be many others. We will keep you posted throughout.
