Einstein Defends Inter-House Swimming Gala Title

Students from all Houses battled it out to win the inter-House swimming gala, held at Victoria Park swimming pool on the 2nd November 2017.

From the 50m breaststroke to the 4 x 50m freestyle relays, students from all Year groups were given a chance to compete and represent their House.

Megan Chan, 9N, represented Nansen in no less than three races: the 50m backstroke, freestyle, and 4 x 50m relay. She said, “I didn’t expect to win and I was really surprised and happy when I found out we came third in the relay! The swimming gala was a good opportunity to try and improve my personal best times, and to step-up. It was also great hearing so much support from my class in the spectator stands.”

Fleming initially led the pack after the preliminary round with an 11 point lead, but numerous victories turned the tables in favour of Einstein, who ultimately won with 326 points.

The rankings for this year’s Inter-House Swimming Gala are as follows:

  1. Einstein
  2. Fleming
  3. Rutherford
  4. Da Vinci
  5. Wilberforce
  6. Nansen
