Beacon Hill School Visit
Year 5 students from Beacon Hill School visited Island School on the 28th April. They conducted experiments to compare the energy content of two different snacks in the Science Labs.
By burning each sample and using a bunsen burner to heat water, they recorded the temperature change. Students were able to conclude that the seaweed cracker produced more heat, and therefore contained more energy, than the cake. This was also an excellent opportunity to develop their skills in scientific inquiry.
