Message From The Principal 29 Nov 2019
Dear Parents and caregivers
Island School has been abuzz since we’ve returned with stories of the amazing adventures that were undertaken on Quest Week. I personally was on Year 7 camp and the children literally grew before my eyes as they grappled with additional responsibilities and challenges.
A feature of the camp was the leadership contribution of the Year 12 prefects. They were amazing in the way they both cared and challenged the Year 7’s and we can all be very proud of them.
Our camp was again organised by Mr. Kevin Lester and Mrs. Stephanie Weathington and the enthusiasm and dedication they exhibited was inspirational. They were ably assisted by our Quest Week Manager Sasha James, and a large group of supervising teachers.
Island School alum routinely volunteer their Quest Week experiences amongst their most treasured memories of their time here. Even amongst the craziness of the past few weeks, I’m sure that your young person has shared the highlights from their trip and I look forward to sharing the Quest Week videos in the following weeks.
In closing, thank you for your support of this wonderful Island School tradition. It enriches our community immeasurably and has done so for a long time.
