Staff, parents and students have been singing the praises of the music department’s recent staging of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on the 8 March 2017. Mrs. Hodson who saw the show said: “It was wonderful to see so many students, of different ages, fully involved and enjoying themselves. It was a truly uplifting experience. ”
In place of the usual Easter concert, this classic West End show gave singers and musicians a chance to come together and perform the renowned numbers, Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do.
The biblical story tells the tale of seven brothers, envious of the favorite one Joseph who they cast-out but who ends up interpreting the dreams of a Pharaoh.
For Claudia Lau, 13R, the show is one of her final concerts at Island School. She said: “It was tiring, but fun. It was a very different production with all the narration sung, so it’s quite new to us. It was just so much better than I could have anticipated.”
