What you should know
Parenting in the 21st century has unique challenges.
Teenagers are constantly distracted by the need to keep updated with social media; how many likes and what comments are on their posts. Many feel that they need to respond to others immediately, and can read into the ways in which others respond with negative thoughts.
Multi-tasking whilst online is common throughout the day.
Online gaming is common for many young people
Understanding the use and abuse of technology is a challenge for many parents
Why you should attend
At school, we believe in taking a proactive approach to positive wellbeing. We raise awareness, reach out and support, and try to give our students strategies to help them to be resilient in the face of personal challenge.
Dr Quratulain Zaidi’s workshop will start to discuss how to help students overcome these obstacles, by developing their sense of responsibility, perseverance, self esteem and self-regulation. There will be a 40 minute presentation followed by a questions and answer session.
Please join us on Wednesday 29th March
