Diwali Under the Stars
Diwali Under the Stars, Island School’s celebration of the festival of lights saw families dining by starlight at the Sha Tin Wai campus on the, 26 October 2018.
The student led event brought the colours and fun of the festival to Island School through food, entertainment and fashion. Families and friends gathered to watch dancers, singers and a fashion show – where teachers and students from all Years walked down the catwalk in Lehengas and Salwar Kameezes, showing off their clothing.
Flower petals, and bright neon rangoli lined the stairs leading up to the hall where guests were given bracelets and bindi. At an outdoor curry food buffet, catered by Restaurant Jashan, guests ate and under the stars.
Organizing Vedika Uttamchandani one of the event said, “It took a lot of time and effort but everyone worked extremely hard to make it such a successful night. I’m so glad at how it turned out!”
The Diwali was the culmination of over 2 months of preparation. The event visied by over 200 people was lead by 4 students, Vedika Uttamchandani (12E), Sohana Daswani (12R), Raina Gidwani (12E) and Tanvi Sethi (12E).
