Following a talk about food waste and organic food by alumni and ‘Magic Season Organics’ CEO Alvin Kwong, Brita Cheng (13F) and Viva Sheth (13D) were interviewed by the South China Morning Post, Young Post for their thoughts on this important topic.
In the article, Brita and Viva shared what they had learnt from Alvin’s talk, such as the main contributors towards food waste in Hong Kong as well as how the regulation of food production and labelling differs between countries. They also offered advice to students on how they can personally reduce food waste and make educated choices when purchasing produce.
They talked about their plans to further encourage sustainability in the food industry by hosting a Ted Talk.
