Young Post talks to competition winners, tackling food waste
After winning the top prize at The Nature Conservancy competition, the SCMP Young Post met with Island School’s team to find out more about their project to reduce food waste. The students Gobind Thind (11N), Katya Foong (11N) and Jaimie Lau (11W) explained their “New Bin System” that has been implemented at school, which involves separating different types of food waste for recycling, as well as their methods to raise awareness about the issue and their future plans to start implementing a composting system using students’ food waste.
