Year 13 Biology – Crime Scene Investigator
Year 13 IB Biology students have been using forensic DNA fingerprinting kits to play the role of crime scene investigator and figure out who committed the crime! This is part of the Genetics unit and involves the students carrying out advanced molecular techniques using real DNA to determine which one of four suspects is guilty. This sophisticated equipment helps the students visualise and understand some of the abstract concepts covered at IB level. It also prepares students effectively for university style lab work.
