Y12 Team Wins PolyU Competition with Innovative “ParadePal” App

In early September this year, a team of four Year 12 students consisting of Teddy Liu [12W], Jonathan Lau [12E], Finn Hamill [12W], and Daryl Wong [12E] was selected as the Champion Team in the PolyU “Smart Events of the Future” competition.

The competition involved elevating the attendee experience of a public event in Hong Kong through innovative technology. Over the summer, they developed and showcased “ParadePal,” an app designed for the CNY parade that addresses key issues with the event such as overcrowding and lack of engagement. The project required careful planning, as well as producing a 10 minute video to show their work. Ultimately they were selected as the Winners, a remarkable achievement!
