The British BTEC Banquet

At an invitation only dinner party guests came together for pies, puds and performances – planned and run by the BTEC Hospitality Year 13 students.

As part of the final module in the BTEC Hospitality course, the students collaborated with some Island Sessions musicians to put on an evening of British food and acoustic music. The students assigned themselves different roles both in the kitchen and in the organisation of the event, including communication, finance, decoration, etc.

The menu was all designed and planned by the students and they enlisted the Year 12 Hospitality students to wait on the guests. Head of Food Technology and Hospitality Mr Lord said: “The evening was a huge success with many compliments about the food, service and performances. All the students involved should be very proud of themselves, as they have come a long way since beginning the course less than two years ago and now are very professional in the kitchen and font of house.”
