Technician for Creative Hub

Responsibilities

The creative hub is an area of the school designed to enable students be creative in their learning. The facility will need to be set up and equipped with practical resources to enable this learning to take place. It will operate as a room available to be used by teachers for their lessons as well as for students to simply drop in and use the facilities available, under supervision by the technician.

Job Summary
– To provide first line technical support within the Creative Hub.
– The candidate will work as part of a small team, be hard – working and able to work flexibly and on own initiative.
– Cantonese/Mandarin speaker is welcome together with a reasonable command of English.
– Candidates should have a genuine interest in the creative subjects. Experience of working in an educational setting would also be an asset.
– Candidates will need to work with students and teaching and support staff.

Duties
– Liaise with Vice Principal

Preparation of Teaching Materials:
– Setting up and preparation of resources
– Photocopying and laminating resources
– Help with the organization and mounting of exhibitions of student work.

Maintenance of machines and tools:
– Monitor materials and equipment
– Order and replenish stock
– Document and file away all orders and invoices

IT Skills:
– Word processing and typing skills
– Familiarity with the adobe packages

General
– To assist the school as required
– This is a non-teaching position, but will involve working with students
– Other ad hoc duties as required

Requirements

Requirements
– Cantonese/Mandarin speaker with a good command of spoken/written English is essential.
– Word processing and typing skills
– Familiarity with the adobe subjects
– Qualifications required: Form 5 or above
