Responsibilities

Teacher of English Language B

The teacher will be required to teach and support EAL learners throughout the school; experience of IB programmes would an advantage in this post. We are looking for a teacher who is confident in making the most of the use of Learning Technology in their teaching and is experienced in teaching students with English as an additional language. Training and qualifications in this latter area would be an advantage.

We operate a 1 to 1 laptop programme all teachers should be committed making the most of these resources in the teaching of their subjects.
All teachers are expected to work collaboratively with the Humanities and English team and the wider staff body to follow the curriculum, assess students’ learning and report on pupils’ progress.
All full time teachers are form tutors to a group of students who they see daily within the house structure
The co-curricular programme is an important part of Island school life and all teachers are involved in some activities that are offered to students outside lesson time.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:
● A relevant degree and postgraduate teaching qualification
● The desire to embrace faculty-wide professional development models
● The ability to realise the potential of students of all learning needs
● A commitment to pastoral care within the school
