Survey for parents of children who have or may have SEN

Dear Parents,

The ESF is an adviser to The Zubin Foundation for their Landscape Study on Primary Education for Special Education Needs (SEN) Children who are Non-Chinese Speaking in Hong Kong.

If you have a child who has or may have SEN, who is non-Chinese speaking, and aged 3 to 15 years old, we invite you to help by completing this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TZF-NCSSEN

Please note that all views will be kept confidential and it is optional for you to reveal your identity or not.  Individual responses from this survey will not be shared directly with the ESF.

The objectives of this Landscape Study are threefold: to identify the landscape of primary school availability for non-Chinese speaking children with SEN; to identify opportunities and gaps; and lastly, to make recommendations, both policy and otherwise.

By completing the survey, you will help:

  1. Families with SEN children identify which primary schools may be able to best educate their children.
  2. The Zubin Foundation identify strengths and weaknesses in the primary education landscape.
  3. The Zubin Foundation develop recommendations to government and others that will help improve the education of non-Chinese speaking SEN children.

The Zubin Foundation is a registered charity in Hong Kong and this research has been funded by the Firetree Asia Foundation and the Peter Bennett Foundation.  More information about the Zubin Foundation and this research project are available on their website: http://www.zubinfoundation.org/

We would like to thank you for taking the time to help the non-Chinese speaking special education needs community of Hong Kong.
