Students Hear from NGO Save the Children
As part of Global Perspectives projects, students across ESF schools joined a Save the Children workshop delivered by the NGO’s CEO Carol Szeto. Through engaging discussions, students were able to witness what life looks like for children in different parts of the world. This workshop prompted students to think about actions to take to accelerate progress on poverty, hunger, health, education and inequities.
Sean Lee (11N) who joined the workshop said, “We are very grateful to have this opportunity to hear from Carol. We are very relieved that despite facing unthinkable situations in some of the world’s most vulnerable places, children’s lives have all taken a turn for the better, thanks to all dedication and effort of kind people.”
“I joined the workshop and found it really engaging. I hope to be able to work with the organisation in the future as part of Global Perspectives!” recalled Hannah Wu (10D).
“I have learnt a lot about problems that children our age face and actions we can take. I am really grateful to have the opportunity to talk with the leaders and entrepreneurs of NGOs!” exclaimed Arnav Gupta (9R).
Mr Howard Davis, Teacher of Explorations & Geography commented, “It is great to see our students independently engaging with people and organisations in this type of forum. And building understanding and empathy and participating in discussions about solutions to global problems.”
