Rainbow Trek Training Hike 2018
Rainbow Trek Training Hike 2018
Students and staff embarked on a 25km training hike along the HK Trail on Saturday, 27 October 2018 in preparation for the final Rainbow Trek hike taking place in November. A group of Year 13s helped to mark the trail, track the students, and oversee the hike.
Among the forty Year 12 students who participated in the hike, Jonathan Yeung (12N) and Matthias Nam (12N) were the first to complete the trail. Jonathan said, “It was difficult but this activity really brought all of us together as a team, and I am really happy with what we have achieved today.”
Students are hiking to raise money for New Sight Congo, a charity based in the Republic of Congo that works to prevent and reverse blindness caused by preventable and treatable eye conditions.
With the final Rainbow Trek Hike coming up on Saturday 24 November, Ryan Krishnamohan, one of the Co-heads of Rainbow Trek, said “We hope to see everybody coming and supporting New Sight Congo on the final trek!”
