Quest Week 2017 – Adventures in Hong Kong and Overseas

From Kyrgyzstan to Japan and Big Wave Bay, students embarked on new learning journeys outside of the classroom – experiencing exotic cultures and unforgettable moments, from the 13 – 17 November.

Nobel Chan from 12D went to Baiwan, China, a service trip, she said, “Baiwan was definitely an amazing experience. The thing I enjoyed most was teaching the local children, helping them learn English as well as having fun and playing games. It was really enlightening and rewarding, and I’m grateful I got the chance to help those less fortunate than me.”

Sia Sheth from 12F went to Antibes, France, this year, she said, “The Quest Week trip to Antibes, France was not only a great opportunity for us to learn French, but it also gave us a chance to experience southern France. From eating gelatos in 40C on the beach, to trekking up to perfumeries on mountains and playing Pétanque at the end of a day of sightseeing, the trip was definitely a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience!”

Van An Trinh from 11N travelled to Croatia, which is one of the newest options, said that her journey was unforgettable. “Surrounded by the Balkans’ autumn foliage, my Quest Week trip to Croatia and Bosnia gave me an insight into the history, architecture and culture of the region. I really enjoyed sampling the local cuisine – a cup of Bosnian coffee coupled with some rose petal-flavoured Turkish Delight. It is something I definitely want to try again!”

Bakhita Fung from 12R was a prefect for the Year 7 camp this year. She said, “Year 7 camp was hard work but fun. On the last day, I felt I would have done anything to be a prefect again!”

Christy Chau from 11F went on the Adventure Biking Trip, which she said was both tiring and rewarding. “I’ve previously never been mountain biking, so this trip was certainly a challenge for me. The up-hills were particularly tiring, especially the day when we had to ride up Tai Mo Shan, the tallest mountain in Hong Kong. Although the trip was physically strenuous, I got to travel to new heights (literally), and see new places in Hong Kong. I didn’t even realize that there were so many beautiful places to visit! Quest Week this year has been absolutely unforgettable!”
