Rehearsals Are Underway for an Evening of Amazing Technicolour

Rehearsals are underway for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat – Island School’s next School Production. The musical uses the original lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the story is centred on Joseph’s “coat of many colours” from the Bible’s Book of Genesis.

From budding musicians to the most experienced IB music class, students from all years have formed a 30-person choir and 40-person orchestra, and are practicing the shows popular songs such as Close Every Door.

The music ranges in style from Elvisy’ rock n roll, the roaring 20s to calypso. The custom made Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat was made by the Textiles department and students from the Wearable Art Elements course.

Nobel Chan, student from 11D, says she’s really excited and enjoys the fun rehearsals: “I enjoy the music and want to put on a show that will engage everyone.”
