Light Up a Life Concert

The Island School Chamber Choir and Orchestra performed in front of a packed audience of 650 people for Light Up a Life, a Christmas Concert and Tree Lighting Ceremony held in St John’s Cathedral. The ceremony features Island School musicians performing alongside the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir with readings and community carols. The event took place on Tuesday 3rd December 2024 at St. John’s Cathedral, Garden Road, Hong Kong at 7:15pm.

Light Up A Life is in support of the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care – a charity which advocates for quality and compassionate care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Hong Kong. A Tree of Life embellished with personal remembrance cards from family members will be lit as part of the ceremony.

Ms Hall attended the event and congratulated the students saying: “What a wonderful concert it was last night. I have been attending the Light Up A Life concert for many years and I think last night was the best it has ever been. The Island Chamber School Orchestra and Chamber Choir were wonderful, and after the concert, so many people commented on what beautiful music you made.”
