Junior Schools Debating Competition 2023

On the 18th and 19th of March, students from the Debate and Public Speaking ECA represented Island School in the annual Junior Schools Debating Competition, also known as Junior SDC 2023. Breaking into the quarterfinals and ranking 8th place overall on the first day having won three out of four rounds, we would like to congratulate the team, which consisted of Alisha Wong 8WC, Vincy Lung 8WC, Seung June Yoon 8FP, Chloe Wong 10D, and Nicholas Tsang 10E for their incredible efforts and preparation leading up to this event—and in particular, Chloe, who individually placed fourth in overall speaker point averages, and Seung June, who placed 10th in reply speaker points. 

We would like to extend our gratitude towards Mr. Barry, who dedicated his time to supporting the event as an adjudicator, as well as Isabelle Woo and Alexandra Lai 11W, who both helped the team in preparations leading up to the competition. Well done all!
