Junior Inter-ESF Debate Competition

Last weekend, members of the Island School debate team took part in the 2023 Junior Inter-ESF Debate Competition. The competition involved 8 teams from 6 secondary schools across the foundation. Over 3 rounds, Island School debaters competed against formidable opposition, but at the end of the day, our team came out victorious, bringing home the 1st place trophy!

Island School was the only team to go undefeated in the tournament, winning all 3 rounds. There was also great success at the individual level as all 4 team members placed as the top 5 speakers of the tournament. Besides their competition success, the team members also demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and grace in their victory, epitomising the kind of character we love to see from our students at Island School.
