ISPTA@Parent Information Evenings
To kick off another exciting school year, the Island School Parent-Teach Association (ISPTA) committee members supported school leaders during the various year-level parent information evenings held at the Island School Performance Space in September.
During these evenings, our parent members took to the stage to share the invaluable work and involvement of the ISPTA. From organising events to advocating for students’ needs, the ISPTA has continued to play a crucial role in connecting families with school leaders and staff.
Parents who attended the information session learned about the various ways they can engage in school activities and where to go to ensure they stay informed and connected, from the weekly newsletter to the website.
A significant focus of these discussions was on supporting our young people academically while placing importance on their overall well-being. Our ISPTA parent speakers shared anecdotes and tips gleaned from their own experiences, and how parents can work with teachers to create an environment where students feel supported, understood, and motivated to reach their full potential.
A big thank you to our parent members, Sonal Darbar, Emilie Razon, Frank Lang, Lamey Chang, Greta Bardley and Jennifer Pollard who generously shared their insights during the parent information sessions.
As we move forward into the school year, let’s continue to foster a sense of community and collaboration. Here’s to a fun and fulfilling journey together!
