Island Sessions – Meet This Week’s Performer Valerie

Meet this weeks’ Island Sessions performer sixteen year old Valerie Yau accompanied on guitar by David DaSilva.

Valerie recently completed music Elements course ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ her particular passion is performing. She plays the: piano, violin, guitar and ukulele, she has also picked up drums from her Elements course. Her love for music started aged 5 when she started playing the piano.

Valerie: “I chose to sing ‘Starving’ by Hailee Steinfeld because I feel the song suits my voice and it’s a well-known song.”

In the future she hopes to study Psychology or Music in Australia or the UK. One day she would like to play in a band but her real love is singing and she hopes to sing at some gigs.
