IS Students Attend Cultural Exchange Program in Ho Chi Minh 

From the 8th-14th of August, 2024, Island School was represented by Katrina Hon 13R, Hannah Lam 13R, Evan Zhang 13W, Luciano Suen 13D, and Ava Au Yeung 12D at the 8th Asian Youth Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The 8th Asian Youth Forum was a culmination of over 8 schools from 6 different regions in Asia, which included South Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, and many more. While the theme of the forum mainly focused on AI and its linkages to the SDGs, schools had the chance to showcase their region’s diverse culture and perspectives through a variety of performances, presentations, and projects.

What was most special about the forum, however, were external events such as the host family program which allowed the students to experience local Vietnamese culture, as well as the site visit to FPT, Vietnam’s leading tech company, to learn more about AI exploration and development. 

Looking forward to the future, Island School aims to continue our collaboration with our partner school, the Laurence S. Ting School in Vietnam, in order to develop upon our school’s impacts on an international scale.
