IB and BTEC students achieve top marks and Outstanding Student Awards

In this year’s International Baccalaureate (IB) exams 57% of Island School students achieved 35 points or above with two students awarded the maximum score of 45 points. Seven BTEC students were awarded a Distinction in all subjects studied.

Jane Wright and Claudia Tam are among 14 other students from the English Schools Foundation who gained the top mark, while another 24 ESF students gained a score of 44.

Alistair Warren and Robert Smeaton gained BTEC Outstanding Student Awards from Pearson Education. Their hard work was recognised by ESF’ CEO Belinda Greer at an award ceremony on Friday 12 June.

Alex Bezzano and Andre Tse both achieved Distinction* in all their BETC subjects.

Principal Chris Binge said: “I would like to congratulate everyone on another set of excellent exam results, IB results are up 4% and in BTEC 57% of all grades were either a Distinction or a Distinction*.”
