Helper’s Appreciation Day
On the 18th of June, the Social Action committee organised a Helper’s Appreciation Day with the intention to show gratitude to the domestic helpers in Hong Kong.
The day started with the helpers arriving at Island School for a delicious lunch which was prepared by Asia Pacific Catering. While eating their lunch, they were accompanied with live music provided by the students.
After lunch the students arranged and organised a variety of activities for the helpers. The helpers were given the choice of jewellery making and crochet. The students accompanied the helpers by teaching them how to make jewellery pieces such as bracelets, rings and earrings. By the end of this workshop, the helpers all made something that they can bring home.
Finally, the helpers all gathered at the sport’s hall for a friendly match of volleyball or badminton.
