Gecko Maths 2019

Teams of Year 7 Island School students and Year 6 students from Beacon Hill School, Glenealy School and Peak School competed at the Gecko Maths competition, on 29 March 2019.

Unlike other Maths competitions where students sit quietly to write the paper, Gecko Maths contestants have to answer 20 questions within 40 minutes. They work in a team of four with one person as the runner. The runner goes back and forth from their team to the marker with questions and answers.

It was a tight contest with only one point separating Da Vinci House team and the Rutherford House team for 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The champion were Beacon Hill team 1.

Maths Teacher Katherine Chiu congratulates the winners and all the teams for making it to the final.
