Educational Assistants – Part-time
Educational Assistants – Part-time post – Maximum 17.5 hours/week at HK$160/hr for a maximum of 17.5 hours weekly.
**There may be a possibility of a full-time post for a suitable applicant.
Individual Needs Department
Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidates will support students, particularly those with SEN such as ADHD and dyslexia, in mainstream lessons across the curriculum as well as in small groups and individually.
Learning Support Class (Individual Needs Department)
Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidate will support students in mainstream lessons across the curriculum, including the school’s cross-curricular ‘Island Time’ amongst others, as well as in small groups and individually when withdrawn. An ability to be flexible and imaginative in your responses to students’ learning will be very important. This is particularly important because the target students have a range of S.E.N. including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD with the common feature being a weak understanding & use of language.
Any candidate must complete a written letter of application stating their previous experience, why they would like this particular post and what skills they can bring to this role. Completion of this letter is essential if the application is to be taken further.
Starting date for these positions will be Early-Mid November 2017.
