Educational Assistant – Learning Support (January 2020)

This is a full-time position.

Individual Needs Department

Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidates will support students, particularly those with SEN such as ADHD and dyslexia, in mainstream lessons across the curriculum as well as in small groups and individually.

Learning Support (Individual Needs Department)

Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidate will support students in mainstream lessons across the curriculum, including the school’s cross-curricular ‘Island Time’ amongst others, as well as in small groups and individually when withdrawn. An ability to be flexible and imaginative in your responses to students’ learning will be very important. This is particularly important because the target students have a range of S.E.N. including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD with the common feature being a weak understanding & use of language.
