Done to a tee   – students plan afternoon tea for Sha Tin residents

In a real world scenario Year 13 Business and Hospitality students practiced their ‘pitching’ skills as they told local Councilors what treats residents could expect at an afternoon tea hosted by students.

Councilors Mr Raymond Li and Mr Thomas Cheung heard how students will impress the 40 invited residents on the 5 December 2018. The students developed two proposals for the Councilors with different options the guests (senior citizens) from the Tai Wai community would prefer.

The Councilors then fed-back on the students’ ideas saying that, the menu and theme of a winter wonderland will be appealing for the senior citizens. However, it is important to focus on the accessibility of the event for the guests and to be aware of how to minimise any food waste.

Business Teacher Mr Tom Smith said, “The students did really well, I think the most important thing they learnt was the level of detail required to plan the event and the complex logistics required to make sure that the invited guests will enjoy the experience.”
