Culinary coverage – student’s pop-up restaurant featured in the Young Post
A group of Year 13 students created their own pop-up restaurant, last term, inviting parents and teachers as their paying guests.
The initiative was part of the students’ final assessment for their BTEC Hospitality level three course. After months of planning, strategising, preparing and tasting the team served 60 three course meals, in one night.
A reporter for the South China Morning Post, Young Post interviewed some of the students involved. The restaurant’s Head Chef Lior Shabat explained that the fusion menu was created to reflect the many different cultures at the school.
Event Manager Esther Clement said that despite the challenges she was really proud of the outcomes.
